The story of

YOu look like I feel

The snow lay heavy on the branches of the big oak tree just outside the tall windows in the living room. "Yesterday was great", she thought as she looked through the glass. She saw a large snowflake slowly approaching the ground and followed it with her eyes. She had woken up thinking that she was the only one in the house who was awake, and since she couldn't fall back asleep she had come down the stairs to the place where yesterday's festivities had taken place. Suddenly she heard someone coming down the stairs and steps slowly approaching the room she was in.

"Wait right there!" she demanded as he appeared in the doorway. He obeyed and stopped before having the chance of entering the room.

She smiled, approached him with her arms held out slightly in front of her and when her hands met his their fingers intertwined.

After a brief glance toward something hanging above them, she lowered her head and looked him deep in his eyes, still smiling. "You know what they say about mistletoes, right?" "I sure do", he replied and smiled back. "But just wait a few seconds, there is something that I want to say first. You are amazing, you know that? You look like I feel, baby."

In an instant, she felt like her brain stopped working. What did he mean by that? The man in front of her hardly had enough energy to keep his eyes open. In combination with his pale face and the trace of drool running down his chin, what she saw was a caricature of someone with a severe hungover. "You obviously feel terrible, and that is what you think that I look like?" she thought as she quickly released his hands and took a step back. She stared angrily at him, waiting for some kind of response to her sudden movement. But none came. Instead his smile grew a bit bigger as he swayed slightly back and forth, trying to keep his balance. His eyes were dim, as if he was in some kind of dream world.

She felt how her body was filling up quickly with anger and couldn't remember anyone ever being so rude to her. Didn't they have a great time last night? She tried to speak but no words came out of her mouth. Still, something had to be done. She needed an outlet for all of that bad energy building up inside her body before she would explode, and she felt how the fingers of her right hand formed into a fist...

He opened his eyes and found that the ceiling he was looking at was not the ceiling of the bedroom where he went to bed last night. The back of his head hurt, the left side of his jaw hurt and he was laying on a wooden floor. Somewhere in a far distance he could hear someone saying "Sorry, sorry, I'm sooo sorry!" and a hand was gently stroking his chin. Then it all came back to him.

Earlier that morning, he had woken up alone and heard her downstairs. His head hurt bad, he could hardly open his eyes but for some reason he felt amazing. "Of course", he thought after a few seconds, "I'm here with HER". He got up, went down to the first floor and headed toward the room she was in. She stopped him before he could enter, but as he saw her approach him with the biggest smile he ascended into seventh heaven. How could he have been so luckly, to be here with someone so beautiful. He had never been good with words, but he felt a need to complement her. In this exact moment he was feeling amazing. She was looking amazing. "You look like I feel, baby". Then it all went black.

The lyrics:

YOu look like I feel

A bright morning and the night before had been just crazy

It was just you and me you told me that I looked amazing

As we stood there underneath the mistletoe

My self-confidence had grown you were the only reason

Until you said the words and they at once turned into treason

The expression on my face changed as you said:

You look like I feel, baby

I saw your hungover, colorless face and those tired eyes

You look like I feel, baby

A trace of drool running down your chin

You look like I feel, baby

Yeah, I could hear what you said but I still couldn’t figure it out

You look like I feel, baby

I didn’t know the mirror was in your heart

I stood still for a while but then I took a step back

My laser eyes focused to make your skull crack

That would be nothing but fair after what you had done

You didn’t seem to understand what my action meant

As you stood there and smiled, thought we were in consent

But you were so wrong, oh you were so wrong

How could you come up and say:

You look like I feel, baby

I saw your hungover, colorless face and those tired eyes

You look like I feel, baby

A trace of drool running down your chin

You look like I feel, baby

Yeah, I could hear what you said but I still couldn’t figure it out

You look like I feel, baby

I didn’t know the mirror was in your heart

You were lost in the land of miscommunication

You tried your best but couldn’t let me in

When you looked at me you saw no frustration

Well that changed when my fist hit your chin

You shouldn’t have said:

You look like I feel, baby

I saw your hungover, colorless face and those tired eyes

You look like I feel, baby

A trace of drool running down your chin

You look like I feel, baby

Yeah, I could hear what you said but I still couldn’t figure it out

You look like I feel, baby

I didn’t know the mirror was in your heart
